Lina Bakkemose
Lina is R3's multifaceted art director who is interested in all kinds of design forms and aesthetic processes. In her creations, she often focuses on capturing the simple in order to transform it into something that arouses emotions. Among her posters you will find several motifs that are reminiscent of nature, but presented in an abstract manner with soft shapes – take her motifs "Landscape" and "Illustrated flower" as outstanding examples.
For Lina, her interest in art and design began at an early age, and has been a constant presence ever since. Her father is a watercolor artist and has also been a teacher in the subject. Creative creation has therefore come naturally; Lina has drawn and painted for as long as she can remember. But instead of niched herself within a certain art form, she has explored different types of styles and forms of expression. This has meant that she does not limit herself in her creation, but thinks broadly and likes to create with her hands – the creative process often goes from a handmade sketch to a finished poster.
Lina's posters fall into several categories. She moves from minimalist and stripped-down to abstract illustrations with several color shades. A recurring source of inspiration, however, is Scandinavian style, and also modern interior design. Combine that with neutral and light color tones with soft lines, and you have a comprehensive picture of what Lina likes. At the same time, each individual poster differs in expression and tells its own story.
