    Learn the golden ratio

The golden ratio, or golden rectangle, is a widely known measurement formula that aims to create harmony between objects. The formula has been around since the time of the ancient Greeks and is still frequently used by architects, artists and interior designers – and soon, perhaps by you too.

How to hang your paintings with the golden ratio

    1. Measure the wall and divide the measurement in half, we will take an example where the wall is 250 cm: 250/2 = 125.

    2. Then measure the painting that you are going to hang and divide the measurement by 3. For example, if you have a painting measuring 100cm, 33cm will be the measurement you should use.

    3. Take the center of the wall, in our case 125, and subtract a third: 125-33=92. The bottom edge of your painting will be on the 92 cm height line. Hang it and… Voila, you have a painting hung based on the golden ratio.

(Don't forget to calculate the distance up to the hanging device before you put the hanging hook on the wall.)

If you hang several paintings together, the golden rule also applies to the entire painting wall, at least if the paintings are hung close together.
